- Have an existing refrigerant filler licence?
- Complete your approved Worksafe Licence renewal here.
You must have had an approved fillers license that was valid within the last six months to complete the on-line renewal.
Otherwise you will need to atttend a face to face training session from a recognised WorkSafe approved provider, here is current training company that meets the requirment and can provide a face to face session that is completed in less than a day:
Note from WorkSafe:
People filling containers with gases under pressure, including cylinders, aerosols, and non-refillable containers must be trained and hold an approved filler compliance certificate.
Important: Why renew your refrigerant fillers licence?
- You need a current licence to be legally compliant to fill a recovery cylinder with refrigerant in New Zealand.
- Be aware of the safety risks associated with current refrigerants in use generally.
- Ensure you are up to date with industry changes, including the introduction of new refrigerants.
- Refresh your knowledge on the safe handling of refrigerants both when filling a cylinder and when working or transporting them.
- Refresh your knowledge on the calculations required to safely fill a recovery tank.
- Understand the changes made to safe disposal of the recovered refrigerant. Who are the current providers of a collection and disposal service.
- Gain access to a phone application to quickly and easily calculate the correct recovery volume into a recovery tank.

This course is an on-line renewal. Everything you need is included here; all resources are provided.
Please Note: This course will not provide the required information to recover A3 (Flammable Refrigerants) or to work with Ammonia Refrigerant. Additional training is required to work with these refrigerants. Plus C02 Refrigerant handling also requires specific additional training.
